You may remember Jenna and Todd from their Malibu Engagement Portraits earlier this year. Now it’s time for the wedding! Rather than the typical Los Angeles ballroom wedding, Jenna and Todd wanted something different. They decided to go a bit south, to the Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa near San Diego. It’s a beautiful property with with a Spanish vibe and lots of greenery and open space.

Elissa and Richie selected an unusual location for their Jewish wedding. Vibiana in Downtown Los Angeles is a decommissioned Catholic Church. It was heavily damaged in the famous Northridge Earthquake in 1994 and sat idle for quite some time. Eventually an investor came in, purchased property and rebuilt it for special events.

Introducing Joey! We started with early morning portraits at Temple Bat Yahm in Newport Beach, deep in Orange County. It’s a beautiful campus with great gardens and a mix of old and new architecture.

Introducing Baby Morgan! I’ve known her mommy, Stacy, for quite some time and even photographed her wedding. Morgan is a cute little bugger with a voracious appetite for hats and her favorite stuffed peacock, Jacque (who is French, naturally).

Max is nuts for baseball. Not just any baseball – the Dodgers. If you’ve been following sports recently, you’ll know it’s a challenging time for fans like Max. Why is baseball relevant in this blog post? Well, naturally Max has a Dodgers Themed Bar Mitzvah, of course!
We started photography with portraits at Adat Ari El Synagogue in North Hollywood. It’s a beautiful campus and it’s always fun to photograph here. Incidentally, it’s also where I went to preshool. Small world, right?

Jenna and Todd’s engagement session took place at three different locations in Malibu. First we started at a beautiful park set back in the hills, then moved to the one and only dog-friendly beach in the Malibu-area, then off to a third beach with some awesome rock formations.

With rain in the forecast, we were all a bit on edge in the days leading to Ashley and Jeff’s wedding. Everything worked beautifully, however, and we had a great day of photography with blue skies and just the right amount of puffy clouds. Photography started at the Culver Hotel in Culver City. It’s a neat old place built in 1924 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Presenting Ashley and Jeff! We did their engagement session at two locations – first Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills, then Hidden Valley in Thousand Oaks. We got some great images and I can’t wait for the wedding!

I love photographing Bat Mitzvahs, and Nicole’s was no exception. We started with family portraits at the house and then moved to Temple Kehillat Israel in Pacific Palisades, California. It’s a great synagogue to do photography – bright and airy with a unique contemporary look.
